Blog Post 3: HELL-o? It's Me.

Reflect back on Canto III - What is the crime of the uncommitted? What is their punishment? Is this penalty related to the crime? In Canto IV, what are the indications that you have seen where Dante is lost? In Canto VII, compare and contract the use of mud and mire in the punishment of the gluttons and the use of mud and mire in the punishment of the actively and passively wrathful. How does the overall description of hell compare and/or contradict to the contemporary Christian belief of hell? Does the motif of "Height/Depth" continue to appear in the text? If so, where do they appear and what do you make of it?
