Blog Post 4: Ain't Nothin' but a Sin Thing

Explore Canto VIII and determine what was meant when Dante stated that the boat did not seem to carry a load at all until Dante answered. In Canto IX, Erichto wanted to "call back the shades to their dead clay." What was meant by this? Canto XI talks about usury being a sin. Why is it considered a sin. Explain the relationship of the sin of violence and the punishment of boiling them in the blood of Phlegethon in Canto XII. Lastly, describe how the spirits of the suicide victims enter the trees - is their punishment appropriate?
